Run Monkey Run!Run Monkey Run! Believe it or not monkey hunting still goes on in some parts of the world. The way it’s done is interesting. A gourd is tied to a stake driven in the ground. The top is cut open just enough for a monkey to get its hand in. Then a shiny object is dropped inside. This shiny little object is called the Scandalon, or the bait stick. One thing amazing about this whole procedure, it’s all done while the monkeys are watching. The trappers want the Scandalon stick to be seen by the monkeys, so it becomes an object of desire! When all is set the trappers simply walk into the jungle and find a place to watch.
This is how it works. The monkeys want the Scandalon so they pick up the gourd put their hand down in it and grab it! When the monkeys grip the Scandalon their hand becomes too big to come back through the hole. Now all they have to do is let go of the Scandalon to be free! The monkeys however, want that Scandalon to much. Therefore they stand there with their hand stuck in a gourd jumping and yelling. The trappers simply walk up to them with clubs and take their lives away!
Someone reading this may say, dumb monkey! Why don’t he let go of the Scandalon? You may find this interesting. The word Scandalon comes from the Greek word Scandalizo. It is where we get our word… Scandal!!
Scandals are one the enemy’s greatest traps. Their set and baited while you watch. Some people watch the enemy set the trap and yet their desire for the scandal is so great they can’t stay away from it!
The Word of God is so powerful that if heard will change the entire world! The enemy will do anything to stop it! This is why lies and scandals are started about ministry leaders. Some Christians will participate in these things without even thinking that the one their tearing down is the very one that may have the word for their deliverance! Some people get upset at me because I won’t talk negative about others. But how can I comment when I don’t know the situation or how distorted it was by the time I heard it. I see tabloids in the supermarkets I know first hand are not true. It’s simply a bait stick! If someone told me that one of our Ministry leaders climbed the flag pole at the court house in Nashville naked and cussed everybody out, I would not believe it until they told me themselves. Then I still wouldn’t talk it, because It's not just lovely or of a good report. The next time someone says did you hear this or did you hear that, my advice is- Run Monkey Run!
